Our Local Challenge: Ensuring our students are protected requires both physical campus security and modernized infrastructure. From secure perimeter access and traffic safety during drop-off/pick-up to up-to-date HVAC and clean learning environments, safety must be built into the physical design of our schools.
Why Me: With previous experience as a licensed general contractor, LEED-accredited professional, and experienced school operations director, I bring direct, technical oversight to campus safety. I know how to evaluate facility vulnerabilities, manage security upgrades, and ensure modernization bond dollars are spent transparently to make campuses like Baldwin, Ledesma, and Bernal Intermediate secure, resilient, and welcoming environments for every child.
Our Local Challenge: High cost of living and workplace burnout across Silicon Valley create severe staffing shortages and turnover in Oak Grove classrooms. When great educators leave, instructional momentum and school culture suffer.
Why Me: Supporting teachers requires more than rhetoric—it requires systemic solutions. Through my doctoral research in Industrial and Organizational (I/O) Psychology focused specifically on teacher retention in California, I bring data-driven insights to the board. I will champion supportive workplace cultures, competitive compensation models, and meaningful professional growth pathways that keep exceptional educators in our neighborhood classrooms.
Our Local Challenge: Families depend on neighborhood schools not just for strong academics, but for critical electives, special education resources, after-school enrichment, and transparent communication. With ongoing state budget fluctuations, mismanaged district funds put these essential family supports at risk.
Why Me: As an active district parent and a certified K12 school Chief Business Official (CBO), I bring financial stewardship and parental accountability to district governance. I know how to audit complex school budgets line-by-line to cut administrative waste, protect neighborhood school funding, and ensure resources go directly toward student enrichment and programs that help working families thrive.
